His Righteousness For My Heinous Sins

Good Friday. Absolutely Glorious Friday. Grievous Friday. Absolutley Painstaking Friday.

Today is the day we remember a beautiful exchange. Christ took all of the sins of all who would believe on Himself and gave us His righteousness. Wow! God crushed His only Son for us! 

Friday is here, yet we know without Sunday, his death would have meant nothing. We needed our sin forgiven, but our Savior could not stay in the ground. He had to overcome sin and Satan. 

He did and for this I will meditate today.

Titus 2: 11-14 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people of his own possession who are zealous for good works.

Let us not walk in our flesh gratifying its desires. Think about this each step you take, each word you speak, each thought you think.

One more thought friends, ("Mr. Cartwright" asked me this), "If God couldn't look on Jesus as He was crushed and took our sin, what do you think Jesus feels each time we choose sin?" God the Father is displeased and hates sin, and yet, His son bore that wrath for us. Willingly. Obediently. Full of Loneliness.

Praise to the Lamb. May I live in view of this each day.

The Law Fulfilled

Leviticus.

Most people who are unchurched have no idea this book in the Bible exists. I have just started my journey through this book. It is heavy and yes, even at times, boring. As I am reading about all of the step by step instructions in sacrifice I feel very burdened for the children of Israel during those years. There was so much to know and remember.

And it struck me.

Jesus fulfilled all the Law in one sweep. His blood was the last sacrifice, even more, the only sacrifice that fully answered God's wrath against sinful man.

This makes me thankful. I am not bound by the law, but it is the law that brings man to repentance. My sin is my burden, but I have a Savior who lifts this burden from me as I confess verbally and inwardly desire change.

Praise our Lamb for bearing this cruelness of the cross for us. Praise Him for His grace.

Pondering This...

At the Feet of Jesus

Lay your burden at the feet of Jesus, my dear one.

These lovely feet pierced through for our sin that are stained with the blood that cleanses our sin-sick hearts.

These dusty feet that paraded through the streets of Jerusalem and the surrounding districts loving the unlovable.

These beautiful feet that walked upon the Sea of Galilee, bidding one frightened disciple to come and trust.

These small but perfect feet that took my Lord when He was just a boy to the synagogue to give early evidence of the God Man.

These tired, but enduring feet that walked the road to Golgotha, for you and me.

These feet that took my Savior to see His Father.

These lovely feet that were wiped by the woman who offered her sacrifice of praise, when all those around her couldn't believe she was wasting her costly perfume.

These tender feet that leave behind the mark that proves He carries me when I am weak and lonely.

These feet that I will one day bow before and acknowledge as my King of Kings and Lord of Lords forever and ever.

The Beauty of The Cross

IN THE CROSS....

...my soul is cleansed

...my grief is replaced by unspeakable joy

...my Savior paid the debt I never could

...Satan's power and schemes are shattered

...my once dark heart is made to shine

...I am made my Lord's child forever

...I am given Christ's righteousness, treating me as if I had never sinned

...my sin is placed on Christ, who is the perfect, spotless lamb

...my eternal life is secure

...the weight of the law was abolished, for I cannot keep the law apart from the cross

...no matter how dark the world is, Christ's light shines through and dispells all darkness


Lord, Thank you for the cross. Thank you for selflessly giving your life and giving me life. You are my light and my salvation. Grant that I may keep the cross ever before my eyes.

Living is Dying

Matthew 10:37-39

He who loves Father or Mother more than me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. He who has found his life will lose it, and he who has lost his life for My sake will find it.


The cross is the hard road. The cross is in the valley.

His cross must be our central focus. His cross is our redemption.
