Empty Thoughts. Empty Words

I've had very few blog posts lately. I've been busy.

But the real truth is...I haven't been able to find the words to write about. Writer's block or just being plain tired. Not sure which.

One thing I do know is my spirit has felt dry. Life holds so many trials and disappointments. Family issues. Siblings struggling. Children floundering. Doubts in my own mind.

So again, I talk to myself. I say, "Self, you know the truth. You know the One who holds all things together. You know your God loves you and gives you these valleys to grow in, to depend on Him. Gather yourself. Talk to the One who has paid the price of redemption for you. He redeemed you from the pit. He has crowned you with lovingkindness and compassion. (Ps. 103) He will give you the eagles wings to soar on the heights of His love and grace."

Then I give myself a swift kick in the "cookie dough". (This is what the Ponderosa calls the gluteus maximus)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Psalm 103

Bless the LORD, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
bless his holy name!
Bless the LORD, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits,
who forgives all your iniquity,
who heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit,
who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
who satisfies you with good
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
The LORD works righteousness
and justice for all who are oppressed.
He made known his ways to Moses,
his acts to the people of Israel.
The LORD is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
He will not always chide,
nor will he keep his anger forever.
He does not deal with us according to our sins,
nor repay us according to our iniquities.
For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;
as far as the east is from the west,
so far does he remove our transgressions from us.
As a father shows compassion to his children,
so the LORD shows compassion to those who fear him.
For he knows our frame;
he remembers that we are dust.

As for man, his days are likegrass;
he flourishes like a flower of the field;
for the wind passes over it, and it is gone,
and its place knows it no more.
But the steadfast love of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him,
and his righteousness to children’s children,
to those who keep his covenant
and remember to do his commandments.
The LORD has established his throne in the heavens,
and his kingdom rules over all.

Bless the LORD, O you his angels,
you mighty ones who do his word,
obeying the voice of his word!
Bless the LORD, all his hosts,
his ministers, who do his will!
Bless the LORD, all his works,
in all places of his dominion.
Bless the LORD, O my soul!

****UPDATE ON MOM****

Mom went to the her regular doctor on Monday.

She has not seen a doctor at all since she was diagnosed with her second bout of lung cancer last September. As of a month ago, she has been fighting a sinus infection as well as bronchitis. Since then, her lung capacity has gone done dramatically. She has been trying to fight the infection using all natural remedies.

So, Monday came, and she and Dad decided she would go on a regiment of antibiotics and breathing treatments as well as oxygen. This seems to be the only way to find out if the symptoms are truly an infection or if the cancer has, indeed, grown and increased in intensity.
Please pray specifically that the medication she is now on will reduce the symptoms and relieve her infection. Pray that her lungs would increase in capability, and that her
natural protocol will work to treat the cancer.

My dear Mother, has a strong faith. She is a testimony to so many of what God can do in some one's life.

You see, Dad and Mom were not supposed to make it this far. When I was very young they were on the verge of a divorce. Then God got ahold of them and changed their lives into something beautiful. I praise God He did this, for I would not be here otherwise.

Psalm 103:12-18
As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. Just as a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him. For He Himself knows our frame; He is mindful that we are but dust. As for man, his days are like grass; As a flower of the field, so he flourishes. When the wind has passed over it, it is no more, and its place acknowledges it no longer. But the lovingkindness of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, and His righteousness to children's children, to those who keep His covenant and remember His precepts to do them.

Day Seven ~ Joseph's Coat of many Colors

Tonight on our Jesse Tree we are focusing on Joseph's story. This is one of my favorite Bible Stories and one where God's sovereignty shines. I think of what Joseph went through. His own brothers sold him into slavery, but most of them really wanted to kill him. Now knowing the end of the story, gives me great hope when I feel like questioning what God is doing through a certain situation. Trust, faith, hope, reliance on my maker: these things we cannot live without. Joseph did not question God. He trusted in his Yahweh. May we do this too.

What man meant for evil, God meant for good.

We have all experienced the truth of that at one time or another.

Psalm 103:1-5
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name.
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget none of His benefits;
Who pardons all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases,
Who redeems your life from the pit,
Who crowns you with loving kindness and compassion,
Who satisfies your years with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagles.
