Case For Grace - For Kids

Grace. It's a hard concept for children to get. Dang! Isn't it even difficult for us adults as well?

 But thankfully we have people like Lee Strobel, who can capture this marvelous thing and bring it to a place they can relate. Through lives of other children he shares stories of God's amazing grace. In his latest book, Case For Grace For Kids, Mr. Strobel introduces young ones to the concept of God's grace at Christ' expense. He explains how the very God, Creator of the Universe, humbled Himself, and in turn, showed us sinners favor. 

Whether your child is small or preteen or even teen, they will be able to relate to the instruction of Mr. Strobel, as he shares the life-changing truth of the Gospel. We are all born sinners and as children grow they especially can struggle with selfishness, autonomy, and pride. Grace dispels all of that. I am thankful there are resources like this to minister to my children.

Book Review - Frederick

The spirit of determination that allows one to overcome such adversity as Frederick Ndabaramiye did is quite amazing. Faith is always part of that spirit. Faith that God gives to believe in the hope of a future and faith that forgives those who try to take your life from you.

Frederick, an autobiography, is an unbelievable story of resilience and fortitude. Frederick lived through the Rwandan genocide and was severely maimed by his enemies. His story is one that touches the deepest nerve in one's soul. God had a mighty plan for him. God sovereignly placed people and things in his life to direct him exactly where he needed to be at the perfect time. As you read this book, you will find yourself immensely grateful for your own blessings, as well as, asking yourself the question of, "How can I be an instrument of service to those who are hurting around me?".

This story is one of hope for the future. One boy's story of how he overcame incredible odds and become a man who helped others do the same.

The Perfect Pasttime~ Reading

Here, at the Puebla Ponderosa, we love to read.

"Mrs. Cartwright" has always been an avid reader and has wanted her children to be the same. We teach our children that one of the most important reasons to learn how to read is so that they can read God's Word and learn how to live a holy life.

My littlest, "Inger", yearns to know how to read and is such an eager beaver.

"Marie" has just finished her first chapter book, The Boxcar Children, and has hit that, 'I love to read' stage where everything has finally clicked.

The weather here is finally tolerable and today I found "Little Joe" on the trampoline reading, Little Women.

We always are in the middle of a couple of read alouds as a family. During lunch we are reading, Anne of Green Gables. At bedtime we are reading, The Light and the Glory For Children.
