Walk In Him

Colossians 2:6

"Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,"

Do you walk in Him? Even though I have received Him, there are days I walk in myself. Think about this....We have everything we need to really live; given to us by our Savior, and we choose to ignore Him so many times. Walking in Him means:

~ thinking before we speak

~ selflessly giving of our time, energy, talents and money

~ not walking according to the flesh and its desires

~ obedience to Christ

~ abiding in Him by spending quality time in His Word and communing with Him in prayer

~ seeing Jesus more important than all else

~ exhibiting the beautiful fruit He requires us to produce as His children (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control)

~ showing mercy to others, even when we feel they don't deserve it.

~ forgiving others, for we ourselves want to be forgiven.

Today, my friend, walk in Him. His burden is easy, his load is light. You will find rest for your souls.

In James 2, I believe, it speaks of mercy triumphing over judgment--if we could only remember that and put it into practice--oh, for a heart filled with mercy today.

Great post! Thank you.

How this speaks to my heart. I have many days when I am confident in my belief and yet struggle to truly "walk in Him." It's a tall order. But we know we can do all things through Him who strengthens us!
