Day Fifteen ~ Nehemiah

Our reading tonight for the Jesse Tree is
Nehemiah 2 and 6:15-19
Nehemiah grew up in exile due to Babylon's destruction of Jerusalem. He rose to prominence in the Persian Empire, eventually serving as the king's cupbearer. He was later appointed governor of Judah by King Artaxerxes. Through this position he led his discouraged countrymen to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem in only 52 days. Nehemiah was also instrumental in bringing revival to his people as he called them to return to God's Commands. Nehemiah's life demonstrates what is possible when you yield to God's Lordship and submit to His will.
