3 Years

I can't believe it has been 3 years since the Lord took my darling mother home to be with Him. April 21st will forever be seared in my mind. Though that day became pain free for mom, our lives were changed forever.

There are still so many days where I think of her or go to call her. I want to tell her, "Listen to "Inger" read." or "Mom, I need you to pray. I'm having a rough day." And she would tell me, "God is using this, Sarah Jeannie." She was always a constant source of encouragement to me and our family.

It's amazing as life goes on, how much more I become thankful for this special woman in my life. She inspires me to be the mom I need to be.

I know I love to have people over to my home because she did.

I know I love to serve and help in the body of Christ because she did.

I know how strive to love all people around me because she did.

I know how important God's Word is because she did.

I am the mom I am because God gave me an amazing mom (and dad).

(This is one of my favorites the year before she died. Anyone who knows mom can appreciate this.)

A wonderful lady who loved Christ. She was militant about her family, a servant for others, and an unashamed worshiper of the Lord Jesus. She was very unique and I think of her often.

Oh my, you two are so beautiful--and, Sarah, you look just like her so you know how awesome you will look when you get older.

My mom's been gone for 16 years now and occasionally I still think, "Oh, I need to call Mother and ask her about something."

She was my best friend in all the world and I will be forever grateful for her love but mostly for her prayers.

I wish everyone was as blessed as we have been in that area, Sarah--

Rejoicing with you over your mother's life.

Have an awesome Sunday.

Hi Sarah, I just saw this post. I love the pictures you have posted. Your mom was a unique person. We are all unique but every now and then we meet someone whose light shines so bright for our Creator that we see Him through them, we feel Him and we are blessed to have this representative of Him in our life. Your mom was one of those rare people - a gift. I still miss her and I know I always will. I remember how much we laughed together and prayed together. I want you to know that you too are a gift - a blessing to all who know you. Your mom didn't see herself that way - she was just "Wendy" in her eyes - a servant of the Lord's. You are the same way. While it's a good thing to just go about our lives just being who we are in Christ, I wanted to tell you how beautiful you are and how much you are being used by God just by being who you are. I love you, Patty

I'm so sorry for the tremendous loss you still feel. Even though time heals, the pain never really leaves. Praying for you.
