It Is So Sweet

....to hear my two little women humming, 'Tis So Sweet To Trust in Jesus, while they play Little Mommies.

May they have that precious song on their lips even when they become Mommies.

So, they force me to think heartily on those words...do I trust? Is it sweet?

’Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His Word;
(May I not believe the lies)
Just to rest upon His promise,
And to know, “Thus saith the Lord!”

Refrain:
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er;
(He has proven Himself more)
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
Oh, for grace to trust Him more!

Oh, how sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to trust His cleansing blood;
And in simple faith to plunge me
’Neath the healing, cleansing flood!

Yes, ’tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just from sin and self to cease;
(He must give the grace to change)
Just from Jesus simply taking
Life and rest, and joy and peace.

I’m so glad I learned to trust Thee, (There are days I have learned, and days it feels like I'm drowning)
Precious Jesus, Savior, Friend;
And I know that Thou art with me,
Wilt be with me to the end.
(Thank you for never leaving me, Savior)

how beautiful to hear your girls hummming that! I love hearing my daughter singing quietly in her room while playing- sure warms the heart.

I do like the song. I wish I trusted God more in my life. I've often thought the line that says, "I'm so glad I learned to trust thee" should say, "I'm so glad I'm learning to trust thee."

"Oh, for grace to trust him more!"

Thanks for your sweet comments on my blog. Yes, to me my mom's death was sudden. Almost 2 months before she died, we learned that she had congestive heart failure and that her heart was working at 15% capacity. In most ways, she kept going strong- except physically. We lost our mothers so close to the same time! Praise the Lord they knew HIM! What a blessed assurance we have knowing they are with their Lord.

I feel the same way: I'm still learning to trust. Many times I think I am trusting, but I have yanked the situation out of the Lord's hands and put it back into my own. Still and all, I cannot imagine how people who choose to live without Christ manage to make it through a day.

What a blessing to hear your children singing such a song!
