Happy Father's Day, Daddy!

I truly believe that the lens you view your Heavenly Father through has everything to do with what kind of a man your earthly father is.

~I know my Heavenly Father loves me despite my wayward path at times. My assurance is not based on performance of deeds, but on trusting in His promises.

~My earthly daddy has always reassured me of his love and never failed to show me love in tangible ways.

~I have faith my Heavenly Father will never leave me or forsake me; but at times will chasten me because He loves me.

~There were never any doubts that my earthly daddy would ever choose to leave our family; the thought never crossed my mind as a child; so much security came through this trust (as well as the spankings).

~My Heavenly Father chose me; I did nothing to merit this gift of adoption.

~I had nothing to do with choosing my earthly daddy; God placed me in his arms where he loves me forever.

Daddy, thank you for all you are to me. I love you and praise God that He chose to save you and that you introduced the gift of His Son to me. More than all the gifts you have given me, more than all the love you have lavished on me, the gift of being reared by you in a God-fearing home exceeds them all. I am so glad I have you in my life.

I love you!

What a sweet and loving tribute to your dear father on his special day. I was blessed with a wonderful dad, too. I miss him terribly. He was the best, and yes, I'm sure you are right about how we view our Heavenly Father and the impact our earthly fathers have on that. Blessings to you and your Dad, and your children's dad!
